I have loved horses since I was a small child.  I rode other people’s horses in the early days, trail riding and competing in gymkhana events.  I finally was able to buy my first horse when I was 30; an untrained 3 year old Hanoverian.  Needless to say, it was a BIG learning process for me.  My passion at the time was Dressage, and I had the opportunity to learn from a Grand Prix trainer and rider.

“Life” got in the way and I had to sell that horse.  A few years later, my current husband bought me my next horse, a Thoroughbred mare.  I was learning about eventing at that time, and thought she might be fun for that sport, but it stressed her out and I found that putting a western saddle on her for trail riding relaxed her, so that is what we did, until a fatal turn-out accident took her away from me.

At that time, I had recently had my 2nd scoliosis surgery, and knew that I would need to find a smaller, gaited horse.  I always loved the look of the Andalusion and Luisatano horses, so when I learned about the Paso Fino horse, I was certain that was the breed for me.  Like so many of us, I ended up at Paso Fino del Fuego Farm, and met with Bobby Yunits.  He sized me up, put me on “Mystico” (a wonderful older gelding who so many of you know!), assessed my ability, then introduced me to “Romeo de United”.  I will tell you that my first ride on him was far from perfect, but with careful coaching from Bobby, weekly lessons, and a ton of patience, I realized that in fact, Romeo was my “heart horse”.  That was 10 years ago - and now I am devoted to the Paso Fino breed.  Romeo and I have ridden trails all over New England, won some judged trail rides, placed in Versatility competitions, worked cows - things that I NEVER would have tried with that Hanoverian!!!

When Debbie Ramsey needed someone to take over the reins of the NEPFHA newsletter in 2011, I jumped right in.  It has been a fun way to network with other Paso Fino owners, and allows me to help spread the word about these wonderful, big hearted horses.

Hello, my name is Hannah Stack. I am currently a junior in college studying Equine Science with a focus in Business. I have been riding and showing my Paso Finos for 8 years. I am fortunate enough to have three amazing geldings, Artesano del Juncal, Ptimo del Norte, and Sparticus de RHF. I am also very fortunate to have such amazing friends here in the Northeast that have attributed to my riding success! This year, my sweet Sparticus (pictured above) and I brought home Third in Country Pleasure at the 2016 Paso Fino Grand National Championship Show. My favorite activity besides showing is sharing this special breed to everyone that is interested in learning about it!
